It is safe to say that 2018 has been one heck of a year. It wasn’t an easy one, but one full of personal achievements and life changing moments.
To start, I just need to thank all of the wonderful people who put their trust in me to document their most important moments. If it wasn’t for all of your love and support, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This year we welcomed a couple of lovely new photographers onto our team and had the opportunity to work with so many incredible vendors in the industry. When a wedding goes smoothly, it is partially because of all of these amazing people behind the scenes who work so hard to make sure you have the time of your life! I am humbled to be a part of that.
I think it’s probably also safe to say that it was the year of the baby! I was fortunate enough to photograph 3 long time friends maternity and baby photos this year. What an amazing thing it will be for your three girls to grow up with each other. Not to mention, there were babies in my family as well. I think the world is trying to tell me something …
On that note, my own life changed a couple of times this year as well, starting with the purchase of our very first house. It was a milestone I honestly never thought I’d realistically achieve, yet here we are. BUT probably the biggest thing for me this year was being surprised by the love of my life when he got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. I’d pictured this moment so many times but never thought I’d be the crying mess that I was. I nearly forgot to say yes and when he asked me if I’d like to see what’s in the box, I actually said “I don’t care” as I hugged him and continued to cry. Side note: I totally do care, my ring was made by the amazing Toronto based Laurie Fleming, I cannot recommend her enough! It’s funny when these moments happen, you have no idea how you’ll react. Anyone want to place bets on how much crying there will be when we finally walk down the aisle?
So here are some of my favourite moments of the year. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did, taking them <3
Happy 2019!
I’m so happy to say that our shoot, Movement In Love, is published in the 2019 print issue of Elegant Wedding Magazine. Check out the full blog post HERE!
Needless to say, the behind the scenes of a shoot are rarely as glamorous as the final product. I am quite often found crawling or climbing for photos and completely happy about that!
Check out the concerned look on everyones faces. I suppose when you are photographing 3 ladies hanging from the ceiling, the vibe can be a bit … cautious haha.
And now for my personal highlight of the year. This is moments after Josh asked me to marry him (and after I wiped away a lot of tears).
Thank you for taking the time to visit! I hope to meet you soon and hear all about your amazing wedding plans! xo
