It was everything I could have hoped for and more! <3
I can’t believe that I’m writing this blog. Really! It’s been such an incredibly surreal experience to be on the other side of a wedding. I’m so stoked to announce that YES, it really is all it’s cracked up to be. On May 18th of this year, I got to marry my soulmate. Honestly, I feel as though I’ve won some lottery I didn’t think I’d entered. It’s really such a crazy thing how life can change in just a couple of years. In November of last year, Josh threw my world for a loop when he asked me to marry him and in just 6 short months we had our dream day. Much like standing on the top of a mountain and looking down, the feeling is indescribable. There is so much work to do to prepare for a wedding I honestly thought I’d have no emotions left for the actual day. Boy was I wrong, the energy I felt was much like being on that mountain; it’s invisible yet palpable.
I want to thank our many friends who lent their talents and worked so hard to help make this day possible. This amazing team is listed at the bottom of the post.
A note on the photography: Even before I was engaged I knew who I’d like to photograph my wedding. My incredible friend Gillian from Studio Lumen who was one of my mentors, flew in from Calgary for the occasion. She also graciously allowed me to edit the photos myself. It took some time … haha. With her, we had two more amazingly talented ladies I’ve known for years join the team; Nicole Kirk and Sam Beekhan. They worked tirelessly and captured our day just as I remembered it. Thank you ladies for your friendship.
A note to my husband: I love you more than words can say. Thank you for being my partner in all ways and for making me cry with laughter during our vows. You da best! <3
